Our Story
A waypoint, not a destination.
A waypoint is a point along a longer journey — somewhere you pass through on the way to something bigger. That’s what we want this studio to be: a place where a song becomes something real, and a step toward wherever your music is headed next.
Waypoint Sound was built by Eric and Jess — two people passionate about music and community who wanted to build something special together, right here in North Georgia. We believe a great recording doesn’t require a big budget or a big-name studio, just the right room, the right ear, and someone who genuinely cares about your song.
Behind the Board
Eric Shelton — Audio Engineer & Producer
Eric is a self-taught recording, mixing, and mastering engineer, and a familiar face in the North Georgia and Chattanooga music scene. He’s spent years helping songwriters turn a voice memo, a living-room performance, or a half-finished idea into a polished recording they’re proud to release, share, or book gigs with.
Every session starts with the song. Eric’s job isn’t to make you sound like someone else — it’s to help you sound like the best possible version of yourself.
